EFT for issues on Economic Status

While we often apply EFT to individuals and small groups, there's no doubt that the global economy could use our help.

All this talk of the global economy reminds me of the 1993 study where researchers conducted a two-month prospective experiment to reduce violent crime in Washington, DC. It was hypothesized that the level of violent crime in the District of Columbia would drop significantly with the creation of a large group of participants in 2 meditation programs. The goal was to increase coherence and reduce stress in the District.

The National Demonstration Project to Reduce Violent Crime and Improve Governmental Effectiveness brought approximately 4,000 participants in the meditation programs to the US capital from June 7 to July 30, 1993. There was a highly significant decrease in violent crimes (up to 23.3%) during the demonstration project. The statistical probability that this result could reflect chance variation in crime levels was less than 2 in 1 billion.

If large groups of meditators can contribute to a reduction of violent crime rate in a city, then could a large group of people using EFT have a significant effect on the global economy?

One of the biggest factors in crime rate is poverty. It is safe to assume that if the global economy continues to decline, then both poverty rates and crime rates will increase. The sheer force in numbers of people using EFT around the world could have a significant impact.

Ernest Holmes said "where your mind goes, energy flows." Whatever you concentrate on, you empower. Here are 10 suggestions for adopting positive practices that could impact both your own and the world's economic status:

1. Do a 5-minute meditation on love (the opposite of fear) and/or prosperity every day. When the 5 minutes are up, use EFT statements to increase positive emotion and decrease anxiety, such as:

Even though the stock market has drastically changed

Even though I have less money than I did before

Even though I'm anxious and fearful about what will happen

2. Incorporate gratitude exercises to focus on what you DO have, instead of what you DON'T have. This practice counteracts the fear of loss and catastrophe, and keeps a positive focus.

Even though my situation is different now, I choose to focus on what I have.

Even though things have changed, I am grateful for my safety and wellbeing.

Even though I am scared sometimes, I am grateful for my family and my health.

3. Quiet the mind. Processes like EFT and meditation help you go into 'observer' mode. They quiet the mind and develop your 'observer' quality. In meditation, they call it the 'watchful' quality or the 'witness' - the ability to take a step back and observe yourself in a calm and nonreactive way.

It's not a matter of wrestling with the mind, but a process of quieting and disempowering it's influence. The observer is not trying to fix everything immediately, but observe nonjudgmentally, like a sportscaster. Borrow from meditation and take a step back and observe what is happening and your reaction to whatever is scaring you. This will help you to be more objective and to remain calm. Sometimes the 'witness' position is the only sanctuary we have.

4. Maintain mental clarity. Anxiety can cause your mind to become clouded if you become caught up in fearful expectations. If you hear bad news, negative feelings can escalate and prevent you from taking helpful action. The most important goal during highly anxious moments is to retain mental clarity and composure. The first order of business is to slow your breathing down in order to turn off the emergency response.

Even though I am afraid for the future

Tap around the body and focus on what you know and what you have for sure.

EB: I know I am safe in this moment.

SE: I know there are people that love me and will help me.

UE: I know that I have enough reserves to get by on.

UN: Right now, in this moment, I have enough.

CH: Right now, in this moment, I am enough.

CB: I have gotten through difficult times before.

UA: I am loved.

The second order of business is to stay rational and keep your mind clear, so that you can give yourself instructions. This is often easier said than done.

It's like when your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. You need to quiet your mind so that you can think and problem solve. You ask your children to be quiet so that you can think of what to do next, but they sense the tension and start talking more, in a more frenetic way, getting louder and louder. It just adds to your frustration and fear. You can't hear yourself think and you just get more panicky by the minute.

Your mind can be like those children. Your thoughts are racing and the "noise" in the system gets louder and louder. It is exactly what you don't need. This can also happen on a global level, where anxiety becomes the fabric of our collective consciousness.

Slowing down your runaway thoughts allows you to tune into more subtle internal cues, so that you can attend to them sooner. If you develop your capacity to self-observe, you are then able to focus on one thing at a time. You are more aware of stressful circumstances without overreacting. Use neutral language, such as "this situation" instead of "this crisis."

Even though this situation seems grim, I choose to remain calm and focused.

5. Soothe anxiety with calming thoughts. People experiencing extreme anxiety make 2 mistakes: you scare yourself with thoughts of what 'could' happen, and you over-focus on your body and under-focus on what you can 'do' to stay calm.

When your "mind" takes over and makes you scared (it loves to think about the worst case scenario), use EFT to neutralize the fear and clear excess worry.

Even though I am scared right now, I choose to stay calm.

Even though I am not sure what the future will bring, I choose to stay focused on the present.

Even though our leaders don't even agree on what to do, I choose to remain calm.

6. Erase and replace. See the world as prosperous. Examine your beliefs about scarcity and change them into beliefs about abundance. As you affirm your abundance, you may notice that you need to work on being open to receiving, and believing that you deserve to have abundance. Use EFT to change your programming and erase any "tail enders" that surface:

Even though part of me is still worried...

Even though I still feel afraid, I choose to focus on my prosperity.

Even though the future is uncertain, I align with my vision of prosperity.

7. Reinforce your own strength, wellbeing, and capacity to handle whatever comes.

Even though I'm not sure what will happen, I choose to know I can handle whatever comes.

Even though I don't know what's going to happen, I choose to find strength in what I know now.

8. Use EFT in groups. From my own practice, I've noticed that tapping in groups of like-minded people seems to amplify it's effects.

9. Eliminate all sources of negativity as much as possible. Anxiousness is contagious. Avoid listening to negative people and repeated reports of the same old bad news. Fear increases when you worry about the past or the future. This practice will help you stay in the present. Ultimately, the goal is to be able to feel calm no matter what is happening around you.

10. In order to get through difficult times, it may pay to view it as a spiritual journey. There is a great spiritual maturity in accepting who you are and where you are now. Where there is fear, there is opportunity. This is a great opportunity to get your priorities in order and to consider what is most important in life.

Choose a prosperous mantra and repeat it as you tap throughout the day, such as:

The world is conspiring in my favor.

Today I choose to focus on my source, which is my unlimited supply.

Right now, in this moment, I have everything I need.

I love myself enough to allow more money to flow into my life.

Right now, in this moment, the world is healing itself.

Tap into your inner prosperity and avoid getting caught up in the worldwide panic and anxiousness. It's quite possible that as we use EFT to reduce our own anxiety around finances and increase our focus on abundance, our influence will spread and the global economy will improve. Here's to making a difference!

Blessings,
Carol Solomon, Ph.D.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO LEARN EFT YOU CAN VISIT THE EMOFREE.COM WEBSITE OR VISIT RXRELAX.COM.

Forum: Power Up

The Law of Habit

The Law of Habit says, "Any thought or action that you repeat over and over will eventually become a new habit."

When you repeatedly react and respond in a positive way, you take full control over your conscious mind. Soon it becomes automatic and easy to think and act in that manner.

By using willpower and repetition, you develop new habits of thinking and acting. By applying this law, you can become a completely positive person and change your life.

____ Brian Tracy

Forum: Power Up

Catch Yourself

Catch yourself

The moment you feel yourself slipping, take action right away to get back on track. If you catch yourself quickly, you won't fall very far.

It's great when you can stay disciplined and focused for long periods of time. At some point though, you'll get distracted and stray a little bit off course.
That's not the end of the world. Don't beat yourself up just because you've momentarily lost your focus.
Instead, give genuine thanks for how far you've already come. And then step right back on to the path you've set for yourself.
Being disciplined doesn't mean being perfect. Remember that what really matters is what you choose to do right now.
Even if you slip back one step for every two steps you take forward, you'll still be moving steadily ahead. Catch yourself, get back up, keep going and you'll get there.
-- Ralph Marston

Forum: Power Up

There is no one that ever becomes successful without sacrifice, hard work and determination.

Sometimes when we see someone that is wealthy we tend to believe that its just luck. Sometimes we may even secretly resent them for having what we don't have. We may let that discourage us when we look at our ownself and our situation that we're less than happy with.

Truth is these people that are successful had to make a lot of sacrifices to get to where they are in life. It was not simply handed to them for doing nothing. In order to build character, strength and confidence you have to actually do the work. The ones that are there already know this. The hard work creates more confidence, contentment, satisfaction and motivation. And that is what gives the feeling of happiness, not the actual material things.

Whatever it is that you are unhappy about in your life, just know that you have the power to change it into what you want regardless as to what negative situation you might have. Granted, its not a piece of cake to change things around but it is never impossible. You are completely capable and have the complete power to change your thoughts to ones that serve you instead of destroy you.

Forum: General Discussion

Whatever May Come....

What can you do when the situation gets worse? You can improve.

Life throws many challenges at you. And you always can respond in a positive, effective way.
It is wise to plan for the future and to prepare for the future. Yet there is no need to worry about the future.
Because whatever the future may bring, you will find an answer for it. Whatever events may transpire, you can craft a powerful and successful response that will move your life forward.
It may indeed be very difficult. And in transcending that difficulty, you have the opportunity to find great fulfillment.
Dream big dreams that resonate perfectly with who you are, and know that you will reach them.

A doctor and a lawyer were talking at a party, but their conversation was constantly interrupted by people describing their ailments and asking the doctor for free medical advice.

After an hour of this, the exasperated doctor finally asked the lawyer, "What do you do to stop people from asking you for legal advice when you're out of the office?"

"I give it to them," replied the lawyer, "and then I send them a bill."

The doctor was shocked, but agreed it was a good idea and decided to give it a try.

The next day, still feeling slightly guilty, the doctor prepared the bills. When he went to place them in his mailbox, he found a bill from the lawyer.

Author Unknown

Forum: Laugh it Off

Choose Your World

When the going gets tough, smile. And know that you have what it takes to make it through.

When stress and tension and confusion surround you, relax. Select a specific challenge, deal with it, and then move calmly and confidently to the next.
If you're being pulled in every direction by forces beyond your control, take time to remember what you value most. Focus on what's important to you, and you'll naturally move toward it.
There will be times when it seems that your dreams are slipping away. Remind yourself once again why you follow those dreams, and you will bring them back to life.
Choose to live not in a world that's overwhelmed with problems. Choose instead to live in a world that is overflowing with positive possibilities.
On the surface, life can often seem tumultuous and incomprehensible. Yet deep inside, where it truly matters, life is the way you see it and becomes what you choose to make it. -- Ralph Marston

Forum: Power Up
